What is your research focus?
“Pharmacological evaluation of medicinal plant extracts and nanoparticles.”
What is the broader impact of your work?
“Medicinal plants are gaining much more attention due to their therapeutic potential against various diseases and infections. Being a rich source of bioactive phytochemicals, medicinal plants are potential candidates to develop nanomedicines to treat cancer, inflammatory diseases, diabetes, etc. These can be a very good source of botanicals used as food supplements.”
How has being a member of the ASBMB helped you along the way?
“Being a member of ASBMB, I get exposure to a large circle of professionals and experts in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology. Being a professional member of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, I am very enthusiastic to know high-skilled biochemists and develop professional collaborations with world-renowned scientists.”
What have you learned from your work that applies to the rest of your life?
“I have learned that hard work always pays.”
