Opportunities and challenges in securing private funding for your research

This webinar explores how ASBMB members can obtain funding for basic research from private foundations, including disease-oriented and patient-focused philanthropic groups. ASBMB members Jeff Brodsky and Matthew Gentry discuss a variety of topics including: how to initiate and develop sustained contacts with private foundations; how the application process for these grants differs from applications to federal agencies; and the opportunities, limitations and challenges of securing funding through this avenue.
