Crafting an effective teaching statement

Part of National Postdoc Appreciation Week

Communicating your teaching identity and goals is key to a successful application for academic faculty positions. In this interactive workshop, we discuss elements of teaching statements, evidence of effective teaching and strategies to get started or polish existing teaching statements. Participants analyze samples of teaching statements, engage in short writing exercises to implement lessons learned and share with peers to gain feedback for improvement.
